Water demand status  Today is the first day of water restrictions, and we will know tomorrow if use was below 500 million litres per day (MLD), in the “Green Zone”. For context: The “Green Zone” means water demand can be met safely by the drinking water system during the shutdown. The “Red Zone” means demand is too high and increases risks to the system. Fire Marshal Bulletin- City Water Supply Emergency- LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS

Members are advised that a bulletin from the Fire Marshal has been issued regarding the City of Calgary water supply emergency. At this time the Calgary Fire Department has confirmed they are not implementing any fire ban or hot works limitations at this time. The bulletin provides clarification on the Calgary Fire Department’s expectations related to the ability to perform maintenance or repairs to life safety systems during the ongoing water supply emergency.
