It is with great sadness that the Calgary Construction Association mourns the passing of our friend and community member, Mary Ann Smith.

Mary Ann was an active and engaged member of our community through her work with Waste Management, where she served as an account manager dedicated to providing solutions for construction work. As a key fixture of our construction community, Mary Ann will be remembered for her infectious smile, her great sense of humour, and her ability to make friends wherever she went – creating lasting connections and an impact that remains with us.

Earlier this year, we were honoured to recognize Mary Ann in our inaugural “Champion Members” Class of 2024 – recognizing her as someone who became an extension of our team, inspiring us with her commitment to our values and love for Calgary’s construction industry. Our condolences and thoughts are with Mary Ann’s sons Kaiden and Sloan, her family, friends, and her coworkers and teammates at Waste Management. May she rest in peace.

On behalf of our membership and community, the Calgary Construction Association has contributed to a memorial donation trust established for Mary Ann’s sons Kaiden and Sloan. Further donations can be made by contacting kflanagan604@gmail.com.
