Alistair McKnight Named New District Manager in Calgary
CCA would like to congratulate both Alistair and Paul on their new roles within PCL. A big congratulations to Blaine who is retiring after 39 years of work with PCL. What a great accomplishment! PCL Construction is pleased to announce Alistair McKnight as its new District Manager for the Calgary and Southern Alberta region. The Calgary Drop-In Centre needs our help!
The Calgary Drop-In Centre (CDIC) is facing a crisis. As winter settles in, CDIC has struggled to secure safe accommodations for their vulnerable, COVID negative clients. We are asking if Calgary Construction Association members know of any available, vacant buildings of any type to house as few as 60 or as many as 400 clients. As this is a COVID response and only temporary, CDIC is open to flexible lease options. Alberta government approves $152M in infrastructure projects for Calgary
Money allocated to create jobs in Alberta through shovel-ready projects via CBC News Calgary will use the $152.8 million in infrastructure funding for building improvements and park upgrades across the city. (Submitted by Leslie Kramer) The Province of Alberta has approved an infrastructure wish list in Calgary and provided $152.8 million in funding to get those projects underway. The funding is part of a $500-million Municipal Stimulus Program meant to funnel cash into shovel-ready projects that will create jobs at a time of high unemployment in Alberta. Municipal Affairs Minister Tracy Allard says the work will create 900 jobs....
