Building Workforce Resilience in Calgary’s Construction Industry

At the Calgary Construction Association, we know that strong communities are built by strong people. Workforce Resilience supports those who build our city by creating space for real conversations, meaningful connection, and practical tools that strengthen mental health, well-being, and psychological safety across our industry.

Construction is rooted in hard work, pride, and perseverance. The same qualities that drive success on the job can also bring long hours, pressure, and stress that often go unseen. Workforce Resilience helps crews and leaders find balance, build support, and develop the skills needed to keep showing up for the work and for each other.

Each program plays a key role in creating that change. Tailgate Toolkit starts the conversation, Hammer Time builds community, and Headversity helps sustain personal growth and resilience over time. Together, they create safer, stronger sites where people feel valued, supported, and equipped to handle the challenges on and off the job.

Tailgate Toolkit

Change begins on site. Tailgate Toolkit brings conversations about mental health, substance use, and psychological safety directly to the job site through Toolbox Talks and practical and accessible resources. It helps teams open up, build trust, and look out for one another one crew at a time.
