About Bill Black

Bill has been involved in the design and construction industry for nearly 4 decades in a broad variety of roles and industry segments. Through his diverse network of industry practitioners and thought leaders, he is a fixture in the CCA community and the industry at large.  Bill is known for his ability to take all situations in stride, and uses his experience, and built-in resilience to motivate others to take on challenges through great teamwork and a strong focus on culture and values. Viewing humour as a powerful way to engage others, Bill is hands on and energetic in his approach and communication style. As a leader his goal is to help others find their true fit within their career path through a sense of team-based achievement, purpose and mastery.

Bill achieved his Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying from Napier University, and has held roles in the industry ranging from surveying and estimating to leadership and executive positions. He is a founding member of the Mindshift consortium and co-authored “The Commercial Real Estate Revolution”.

Jayeful (Jay) Islam

About Jayeful (Jay) Islam

Coming from a background rooted in policy writing, political analysis, and relationship building, Jay has been a passionate advocate for all things Calgary throughout his career. With professional experience spanning private, government, and non-profit sectors, Jay understands the importance of collaboration and relationship building in tackling today’s industry challenges.

Throughout most of his career, he has worked as an in-betweener, bringing the right voices together to develop solutions. Jay has informed decision making across a spectrum of policy realms, from social issues to taxation, with his most recent experience coming from the commercial real estate sector.

Jay holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Policy Studies from Mount Royal University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time in the Rockies.

Adrian Nagle

About Adrian Nagle

Prior to joining the BuildWorks and CCA team, Adrian worked on the membership team at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. One of his core beliefs is that a strong business community is key to driving success and growth in our economy. His previous work with the Chamber of Commerce and now with the CCA has enabled Adrian to truly understand the value of member-based organizations, particularly the importance of being a resource, a support, a connector and an advocate to all areas of the construction industry.

Adrian has a Bachelor of Business Studies, Marketing (Honours) from the University of Limerick, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Ireland, Canada Centre for Commerce, which advocates to create more business opportunities between his two favorite countries.

Stacey Petropoulos

About Stacey Petropoulos

With exceptional organizational skills and an impressive aptitude for problem-solving, Stacey approaches challenges with unwavering focus on the finer details.

Stacey embarked on her professional journey after graduating from Mount Royal University, where she was swiftly recruited by a prominent financial institution. During her tenure, she acquired invaluable knowledge in finance.

Subsequently, Stacey was headhunted by a prominent property management company, where she assumed responsibility for ensuring the corporation’s financial stability and spearheading a complete operational overhaul. After a successful stint in property management, Stacey transitioned into management roles, overseeing the operations and finances of a beloved landmark in Calgary. Her contributions were instrumental in facilitating the landmark’s substantial growth, including an eleven million dollar expansion project that was executed flawlessly within the designated timeframe and budget.

Tammy Amstutz

About Tammy Amstutz

Tammy, formerly supporting the small business sector as a senior fractional HR advisor and strategist, now serves as the Director of Workforce Strategies at the Calgary Construction Association. She leverages her HR background to define the ecosystem surrounding the industry’s workforce, with a goal of addressing both strategic and day-to-day labor force challenges the industry is currently facing. Tammy’s role involves aligning solutions with the immediate needs of stakeholders, as well as supporting the coordination of long-term strategic objectives supporting labor force solutions within the industry’s diverse requirements.

Lena Hogarth

About Lena Hogarth

A member of the CCA team since 2017, Lena provides our members with exceptional customer service and support as part of our information services team. She is known for her exceptional attention to detail, quick problem-solving skills and willingness to support the team and our members in any capacity. With previous experience in software, project management and marketing/sales, Lena brings a broad depth of experience and knowledge to the CCA.

Lena completed her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Lethbridge, and has previously held roles in administration analysis and project management.

Lorne Sobczyk

About Lorne Sobczyk

Lorne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience through his two decades of assisting people in their recovery of their mental health and/or substance use concerns. Prior to coming to Calgary Construction Association, Lorne has worked in a multitude of roles in Calgary at different recovery and support programs. Lorne is not new to supporting people in construction as one of Lorne’s previous roles was working for the Vancouver Island Construction Association as their harm reduction coordinator in Northern BC. In addition to Lorne’s extensive experience he also holds a degree in psychology from Mount Royal University and a degree in social work from the University of Victoria.

As the Education and Member Services Coordinator at the Calgary Construction Association, Annie Morrison helps deliver education programs and member services that foster connection and professional growth across Alberta’s construction industry. With a background in organizational effectiveness and communication, she combines strategic thinking with genuine care for people. A lifelong athlete, she values consistency, teamwork, and the pursuit of growth, all principles she brings to her work supporting CCA members and programs every day.

Finns career began with a modelling gig while attending puppy training academy. After successfully graduating from the academy Finn joined the CCA Team. Most days at the office you will find him very busy in a deep sleep, but he will always make an appearance for those that come in and want to say hi. One of Finns core beliefs is that everyone should give him treats!
