2023 CCA Annual Premier’s Luncheon

Last week, the Calgary Construction Association was proud to host Premier Danielle Smith for our inaugural Premier’s Luncheon and fireside chat. Over 250 community members and industry leaders came out to attend and hear the Premier’s vision for Alberta and what role the construction industry plays. What followed was a meaningful conversation about public procurement, labour shortages, skills development, trades, immigration reform and building the Calgary of tomorrow.

A special thank you to all our members who attended, and to Chandos Construction, Ledcor and PCL Construction for sponsoring the event.

It is essential that we advocate for our industry by engaging directly with leaders on an ongoing basis about their vision for our province and our city. We want to be able to have conversations that count and ensure that our voice is being heard.

The Calgary Construction Association has been working hard to raise the voice of our local construction industry and to engage our community to build better. To do that, we’ve developed key relationships with policymakers at the City of Calgary, the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada. We’ll continue to advocate for our construction industry and ensure that your voice is heard.

Moreover, Premier Smith presented CCA President, Bill Black, with his Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award certificate. The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal recognizes the significant contributions of Albertans, and Bill was awarded the medal for his work advocating for and representing Calgary’s construction industry.
