Calgary Construction Association Releases 2023 Construction Industry Snapshot Stats Sheet

The Calgary Construction Association has compiled the latest statistics and figures about the state of the construction industry in Calgary and Alberta.

Key findings include:

21,317 Building permits were issued by the City of Calgary in 2023
Total building permit value in the City was $5.96B, up 4 percent year over year from 2022
Construction’s direct contribution to Calgary’s GDP was 8.6 percent (not including professional services, insurance, management, etc).
Q3 2023 saw 7,560 vacancies in construction and construction management jobs – or roughly 1 in 4 of all job vacancies in Calgary.
