CCA appeared before City Council’s new fieldhouse committee
Last week, Bill Black and Frano Cavar appeared before City Council’s new fieldhouse committee to voice our opinion on what a new fieldhouse could mean for Calgary – particularly within the context of city building, economic benefit, jobs, and of course, construction.
The Calgary Construction Association is keenly interested in Calgary City Council’s exploration work around the Foothills Athletic Park Redevelopment Plan. We are pleased that Council has taken the next step by striking a committee to get this major infrastructure project built.
If you recall, the cornerstone of this project is a proposed multisport fieldhouse that, for decades, Calgarians have longed for. Further, the conceptual plan calls for a transformation of the area into a vibrant community that would include new athletic facilities, 2,500 residential units, commercial and retail space and renovations to McMahon Stadium.
